What is dry cutting?

Dry cutting is just what it sounds like. Your hair is cut after it’s washed, conditioned and blown dry. (Although, should conditions warrant, we’ll dry cut first, then wash, condition and blow dry.) Dry cutting, although more challenging technique than wet cutting, allows your stylist to see and feel how your hair naturally flows and grows, and to respond appropriately.

Is your hair curly? Wavy? Arrow straight? Unlike wet hair, dry hair offers a true picture of how your hair looks every day, and cutting dry helps your stylist identify dead ends and other problem areas, so that you end up with your very best length and look.

“You never wear your hair wet,” explains AMS owner and expert dry cutter Alex, “You always wear your hair dry.”
